Being homebound refers to a patient’s inability to leave their home unassisted. It also encompasses situations where leaving the home independently compromises their health or condition.
Home care encompasses companion and personal care tasks like bathing, grooming, meal prep, light housekeeping, and errands. It may involve medication reminders, ambulation assistance, and transportation to medical appointments.
Typically provided by a Personal Support Worker, these services can range from a few hours to 24-hour care. Commonly sought by the elderly, new parents, individuals with disabilities, and those transitioning from medical facilities to home. We also encourage family members to remain involved in ongoing care decisions, and we regularly communicate as needs change so care can be adjusted appropriately.
Our team undergoes a thorough interview, screening, and reference check process, verifying skills and training. Caregivers receive regular supervision and evaluations, guaranteeing the highest standard of care for you and your loved ones.
We take great care in matching our caregivers with your loved one. Our process involves understanding both the needs and preferences of your and your family and the skills and personality traits of our caregivers. We strive to ensure compatibility and comfort, aiming to create strong, trusted relationships.
Our approach is highly flexible and personalized. We understand that needs can evolve, so our care plans are customizable and adaptable. Whether it’s adjusting the schedule, altering the type of care, or accommodating changing needs, we work closely with you to ensure the care plan remains tailored to your loved one’s evolving requirements. Your input and preferences guide every adjustment, ensuring the best care experience possible.
We do usually assign a dedicated caregiver to each person to ensure consistent care but sometimes plans have to change.
Depending on your situation and preferences, we can either reschedule our visit for another time or one of our other caregivers can fill in temporarily if you prefer to keep to the same schedule or your normal caregiver will be unavailable for a longer period of time.
Ultimately, our priority is whatever will keep you and your loved one most comfortable.
Our standard minimum home care visit is set at 1 hour. However, if additional services such as housekeeping are required, visit durations may vary accordingly. We aim to accommodate varying needs and preferences while ensuring a minimum level of care during each visit.
