About Our Founder
Sarah Khamkar has been a certified Healthcare Assistant since 2014, and she worked in the community sector at Northern Health for nine years, developing insight into aging, well-being, and the crucial role compassion plays in care. Sarah’s experiences shaped her approach to treating others with dignity, empathy, and respect.
Today, Sarah lives in Kamloops, BC, where she and her husband, Sam, continue to help families in both Prince George and Kamloops receive consistent, compassionate home care.
“It’s not just about providing a service, it’s about making a meaningful impact on people’s lives and setting a positive example for generations to come.”
– Sarah Khamkar
How Humble Home Care Started
Sarah Khamkar founded Humble Home Care in May 2022 after noticing a gap in the way care-giving services were being delivered while working for Northern Health. Community members received care from different caregivers each day, which led to a lack of continuity and personalized attention. This inconsistency affected the quality of the care provided, and Sarah knew there had to be a better way.
She felt strongly that improving quality of her patients was most effective when the quality of life of communities improved as well. That work starts in family-oriented settings, tackling the real challenges that families face every day like housing, access to food, funding, and the basic supplies needed for personal care and mobility.
At Humble, we bridge the gap between personalized care and holistic support to meet the growing needs of our community, with care that is compassionate, proactive, and centered on the whole person – providing the right care at the right time.
Starting a business where she could share the lessons she’d taken away from her years of caregiving, felt like the natural next step. After meeting with other care providers in the community and speaking with clients to gain a better understanding of what qualities an ideal Humble caregiver should possess, Sarah combined those learnings with her nine years of experience in the community sector, community leadership skills, and healthcare expertise to create a business with a meaningful impact on the quality of care in her community.
Humble Home Care began, and continues to operate, from a place of genuine care. Sarah wants to give back to the community and build on the knowledge and values she developed to help others lead healthier, more comfortable lives. And she found a group of like-minded caregivers to help bring that standard of care to as many people as possible. Today, Humble Home Care is responsible for improving the quality of life for people in need of care in Prince George, Kamloops, and the surrounding areas.

Our Humble Goal
Our goal at Humble, is to provide clients with dependable consistent care from one caregiver, who can truly understand their needs and preferences. We focus on getting to know our client’s home environment and family dynamics, so we can tailor our services to fit their routine and support their independence.
We believe that caregiving should be more than providing services. It’s about helping people maintain their dignity to live as comfortably and independently as possible: helping you stay healthy, happy, and at home.
